When to Seek Professional Help for Periodontitis?Periodontitis is a severe gum disease that can lead to tooth loss. If you have periodontitis, you must see a dentist or periodontist immediately. There are two main types of periodontitis: gingivitis and periodontitis. Gingivitis is the early part of gum disease. Here are signs that indicate you need to seek professional help:

Your Gums Are Red, Swollen, Or Bleeding

Gums should always be pink and firm, not red, swollen, or bleeding. If your gums exhibit any of these signs, it's time to see a dentist or periodontist. Bad breath occurs when there is an imbalance in the mouth's bacteria. When these bacteria build-up, they release sulfur compounds, which smell bad. It could signify periodontitis if you have persistent bad breath. Your dentist can tell if it's due to periodontitis by looking at your teeth and gums.

A periodontist includes the treatment of gum disease. If you have

You Lose Your Teeth
