To do that, we use state-of-the-art technology and techniques. These are all to help you to heal faster, feel better, and be healthier overall. Here are some of the technologies and techniques that will help you and our other patients.

Technologies That You and Other Patients Will Benefit From

Here are some of the terms, technologies, and techniques that we use to help our patients. We always want to do everything that you can for you. One great piece of technology that we use is known as a soft tissue laser. We will use this on your gums and also the other areas in your mouth. With a soft tissue laser, we can be more precise with cuts and skin grafts. There will also be a faster healing time for the patient, and there will be less bleeding.

Digital Radiography

When we take x-rays, sometimes we want to see only part of your mouth. Often, though, we need to see the complete picture. With digital panoramic x-ray, we can do exactly that. We can take an x-ray of your entire mouth at once. Since the image is digital, we can move it around to see different angles. This will help us to be better able to find the issue, and also to learn how to treat it the best way.

The data we capture with our intraoral wand is wirelessly transferred to our computer system. We then use CAD/CAM software to design your crown “chairside” as you watch in real-time. Next, this information is sent to our milling unit, which transforms a single block of porcelain into your aesthetically-pleasing restoration.

CAD/CAM

CAD-CAM stands for computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing. This will come in handy when you need crowns, veneers, and even dentures. With CAD-CAM, we will be able to take an exact image of your tooth or teeth, and then we will be able to create your new prosthesis. Because of CAD-CAM, you will have a better fit, which will make the prosthetic feel more natural.

Intraoral Camera

Your mouth is a small space, and sometimes it can be hard to see everything that is going on in it. With an intraoral camera, the camera will be put in your mouth, and then we can see everything on a monitor. You will be able to see it as well if you want. An intraoral camera will give us the big picture.

Cone Beam CT Scan

3D Imaging & Cone Beam CT Scan

3D imaging gives Dr. Wu a more comprehensive overview of your teeth and gum tissues. This allows us to better diagnose any potential problems and determine the next step in an effective treatment plan. We may utilize 3D imaging for cosmetic or restorative purposes, orthodontic treatment, and dental implants.

Cone Beam Scanner

A cone beam CT scan is a diagnostic tool that produces a 3D representation of your teeth, gums, nerve pathways, and underlying bone structure within a single image. We typically utilize cone beam CT scans when a regular x-ray is not enough. Cone beam CT scans are ideal for surgical planning, the diagnosis of TMJ disorders and tumors, and the evaluation of bone structure and tooth orientation.

Soft Tissue Laser

A soft tissue laser simultaneously cauterizes and cuts an incision in the tissue. For this reason, laser treatment may reduce bleeding, discomfort, and swelling both during and after your procedure. We may use a soft tissue laser to treat periodontal disease by removing the infected lining of the gum tissue. This allows for the regeneration of healthy tissue around the teeth. Soft tissue lasers are also effective for gum contouring and crown lengthening if you want to improve the aesthetics of your smile.

X-Guide: Dynamic 3D Navigation for Dental Implants

The X-Guide dynamic 3D navigation system gives us a real advantage when we are performing dental implant placement surgery, allowing us to place implants with high accuracy and stellar success rates. The X-Guide works in unison with cone beam 3D imagery to give us a live video overlay not only of your jaw, bone, and teeth but our drilling tools in relation to them. The X-Guide shows us the exact angle, depth, and placement of every action we take in your mouth in real time. This gives us the ability to precisely control the placement of every implant procedure we perform.

Implant placement outcomes are better with the X-Guide, giving us a higher implant success rate, and happier patients. Even the recovery process can potentially benefit from the X-Guide system. Patients who have implants placed using the X-Guide system may in some cases achieve faster and smoother recovery results than those who have no surgical guide.
